From Heathrow

While I ate my greasy Chinese fast food in the departure area at Logan, there was a couple near me speaking French. I could tell they were speaking French, but that's as far as it went. I hope some of the folks in Brussels speak English.

The flight was a little bumpy but not too bad. I slept for a whole hour. Now I'm in the new Terminal 5 at Heathrow, watching people come and go while I eat my yogurt and (of course) check my email and the news back home.

So far I haven't lost any of my possessions, and the British Airways folks have promised to transfer my luggage through to Brussels. I am drastically overdressed -- not fashion-wise, but temperature-wise. I have been peeling off layers since I left Maine. Maybe it will be cold before the month is out, but if not I will have had yet another lesson in packing light light light light light.
